Rocks

Rocks have travelled far to get to where they are, having been on this earth quite some time, mixing about like social butterflies in this spinning cement mixer. New arrivals, precipitating through the sky, arrive and slowly join in. Beauty forged by a breathless journey can be seen at mineral level. At the molecular level, long distance travelers indeed, only appearing to be still, bound chemically in solid silence. But very temporary is such quiet, as the universe is a storm. That rock’s community has melted and flowed, dissolved and blown, and surely soon will do so again. Electron material, here after roles in other galaxies, long gone, on their way to the next. Animal and plant life, molecules in symphony, rocks come to life upon the flow of water. Carbon, calcium, phosphorus, hydrogen. On a ball, around a star, in a galaxy soaring through outer space.
