About That Glass-Half-Full Thing…

You know that glass half-full, glass half-empty thing? If you’re filling it up and ran out halfway, it’s half-empty, because you intend to make it full. If you’ve finished half the glass, it’s half full, and there’s a whole ‘nother half of refreshment yet to come. Then again, if you started filling a glass and ran out of beverage halfway, it’s half-full, because you’ve failed to make it full-full. Or half-empty can be a positive. “Check out my glass – it’s half empty! I have accomplished a significant amount of consumption! Wow! Lookie!”
