Storm 45 On May 17, 2010

A surprisingly well-developed late season storm (if not post-seasonal or un-seasonal storm) has come ashore and will be providing showers off and on all day today. Despite the cold source of the storm (Gulf of Alaska), even the Gulf is warming up by now in near 24 hour sub-Arctic sunshine of the coming summer solstice, and the snow level is about 8,000 feet, coming down to maybe 7,000 as the coldest air comes through. A similar storm might have brought snow almost to the Valley floor a few months ago.
