In a typical error as an amateur weather observer, i noticed a mulling hulk of moisture west of Hawai’i on a satellite pic last week i disregarded as insignificant, since probably it had no way of getting from the seas west of Hawai’i to the US West Coast. Turns out it was the beginning of a Pacific train known as a “pineapple express” that was very much headed our way.

And here it comes, a wave about to clear Hawai’i! It’s just about 2 days away! Weather statements are reserved. They don’t know if it will punch through the clear high pressure located on the West Coast of North America and maintain a stormy weather pattern to the Californias or if the high pressure will immediately seal back up, breaking up any more storms before they make it to shore.
